ESA attempts to make spacesuits more hygienic

A new European Space Agency study is trying to finds ways to keep spacesuits hygienic. Putting on a spacesuit involves sharing some previously-worn underlayers. A long-underwear-like Liquid Cooling and Ventilation Garment (LCVG) is reused by spacewalkers along with the spacesuits themselves. The new study will examine how to keep these items clean.

The Netherland’s CEAD and Italy’s Belotti have entered into a strategic partnership that combines the expertise of the two - additive and subtractive manufacturing – to bring out a solution.
