Hexcel is collaborating with NaCa Systems, a tier I supplier of natural fibre composite automotive interior parts, on development of a lightweight carbon fibre prepreg and wood fibre composite sportscar seat back using a rapid press moulding process. The innovation validates a short cycle time production process for CFRP and wood fibre composite parts.

Pao Severstal, among the largest vertically integrated steel and mining companies, has made investments in Dutch company Airborne, a leader in developing digital automation platforms for the production of composite parts, and products with integrated composites. Severstal joins other investors in this investment round such as Pangaea Ventures and SABIC.

Abaris Training Resources has completed the ninth training class for Proterra, an innovator in heavy-duty electric transportation. The three-day training is meant to teach structural composite repairs to Proterra's more than 100 North American metro-transit customers. Proterra is the only transit bus manufacturer to use composite material for its buses.
