The Teijin Group’s advanced high-performance materials and technologies will be used in the latest solar-powered, carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) vehicle developed by the Kogakuin University Solar Team for the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, the world’s biggest biennial solar car race, which will take place in Australia from October 13-20.

The third edition of the China International Nonwovens Expo & Forum (CINE - supported by Techtextil) highlighted that there was strong demand for nonwovens in the automotive, hygiene and eco sectors. The expo attracted 107 companies. There were 3,738 trade buyers from 19 countries and regions at the show which was held during June 3 - 5 in Shanghai.

Composite Cluster Singapore (CCS) is working with Eviation Aircraft on 'Alice' - a fully electric aircraft structure. CCS has designed the wing and belly fairings for Eviation and delivered the first shipset for assembly to Vannes. The work on the second prototype is on. The aircraft was displayed at the 53rd International Paris Air Show in France.

South Korean textile conglomerate Hyosung Group has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi Aramco, the world's largest oil company, to cooperate on carbon fibre technology. The MoU was among the 12 deals signed between South Korean firms and Aramco on the occasion of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's visit to Seoul this week.
