Twelve companies to get Innovation award at JEC Asia

Twelve companies from eight different countries will receive the JEC Innovation award in categories: aerospace, automotive, commercial vehicles, e-mobility, marine, railway, sports & leisure, infrastructure & civil engineering, industrial equipment, sustainability and additive manufacturing. The awards will be given away during JEC Asia 2018.

SABIC develops new polymer resin for nonwoven fabrics

SABIC has developed an innovative new polypropylene (PP) resin product, SABIC PP 514M12, which delivers enhanced properties in melt-blown fibres for nonwoven fabrics. The product can serve a wide range of end-use products like diapers, sanitary napkins, etc. Beyond single-material and composite nonwovens, it can act as a base for colour master-batches.

Research centres Trans-Pacific Aerospace Co (TPAC) and ThermoPlastic composites Research Center (TPRC) have developed a new recycling process that targets the production scrap of thermoplastic composites. The objective is to retain the high mechanical properties of the composites and reduce the overall environmental impact at affordable cost.
