Scott Bader, SSC partner for high performance material

Scott Bader and Structural Science Composites (SSC) have entered into a five-year partnership under which Structural Science Composites will be able to grow its business with a long-term consistent supply of high-performance material - Crestapol urethane acrylate resin - from Scott Bader. The material is used for producing composite covers and frames.

Harvard scientists create material with shape memory

Scientists at the Harvard John A Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) have created a material which has shape memory. The biocompatible material can be programmed into any shape, changes shape under certain stimuli and can be triggered back to its original shape. The material has been made using keratin, a fibrous protein.

Norco is composite supplier for MST for MOD contract

Merseyside-based Marine Specialised Technology (MST) has chosen Norco as its main composite supplier for a £9.9 million contract with the UK Ministry of Defence. The contract is to construct two new vessels to replace the interim Gibraltar Squadron Fast Patrol Crafts. Construction of the two boats began in July and will be complete in about 18 months.
