Myant displays medical textiles at CES 2020 expo

Myant is presenting a line-up of textile products that enable continuous and ambient heart health management at CES 2020, from January 7-10, 2020, in Las Vegas, in booth #43925, Sands expo, health and wellness. Myant, based in Canada, knits sensors and actuators into everyday textiles, giving them the ability to sense and react to the human body.

BMW iFE.20, first BMW race car using renewable fibres

BMW iFE.20 has become the first BMW race car which has parts made out of renewable textile fibres. Its flax cooling shaft emphasises its great importance as a tech lab for the BMW Group. Compared with carbon, flax has greater absorption and greater impact resistance, which can be advantageous on the street circuits with their bumps and crash barriers.

Shape adds manufacturing capacity for F1 car build

Shape Machining, a provider of precision composite machine tools, has increased its manufacturing capacity by employing additional pattern makers, for the Formula One (F1) car. F1 car is a single-seat racing car used in Formula One competitions. The additional workforce will allow the company to reduce lead times and achieve tight deadline RFQ's.

SINCE gets 500 exhibitors from 25 countries, regions

Around 500 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions displayed their latest products/technologies at the 18th Shanghai International Nonwovens Exhibition, held during December 11-13, 2019. Compared with previous years, more innovations were showcased in SINCE 2019. There were more spunlace related products, equipment, and nonwovens converted goods.

WHI takes over Aero-Bond Corporation

WHI Global, a portfolio company of RVE Partners, has taken over Aero-Bond Corporation through affiliated entity Aerobond Composites. Headquartered in Springfield, Massachusetts, Aerobond is a manufacturer of composite structures and assemblies for aerospace and defence applications.
