Ascent Aerospace invests in LSAM machine from Thermwood

Ascent Aerospace has announced its recent investment of a Large Scale Additive Manufacturing (LSAM) machine from Thermwood Corporation, a technology leader and manufacturer of CNC and 3D printing equipment based in Dale. Ascent Aerospace is a single-source provider of production and automated assembly systems for the aerospace and defence industry.

NUS team's new way of interconnecting wearable devices

NUS scientists have devised a new method for interconnecting wearable devices. They have incorporated conductive textiles into clothing to dynamically connect several wearable devices at once. This 'wireless body sensor network' allows devices to transmit data with 1,000 times stronger signal than conventional technologies, improving the battery life.

Mitsubishi Chemical setting up SMC facility in Italy

Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation is setting up its European carbon fibre sheet moulding compound (SMC) production facility in Italy. The facility, to start operations in September 2020, will be located on a site adjoining CPC SRL, in which MCC holds a 44 per cent equity. SMC can be processed into components in about two to five minutes by press moulding.
