Miller Weldmaster makes Brent Nussbaum new president

Miller Weldmaster, a leader for industrial textile welding systems, has named Brent Nussbaum the president. Nussbaum succeeds Scott Miller. Nussbaum has been with the company for over 21 years, beginning as a student in a co-op programme. He has worked in many areas of the organisation, including manufacturing, field service, engineering and sales.

Cevotec’s Fiber Patch Placement wins SKF Award

From among 20 finalists, Cevotec won the SKF Award ‘Materials and Processes of the Future’ at the Industry of the Future Challenge in Vernon, France. Fiber Patch Placement – an additive fibre layup technology that enables automated production of complex fibre composites, convinced the jury of senior executives from SKF, Atos and ArianeGroup.

EPSRC composites hub to fund 5 feasibility studies

The EPSRC Future Composites Manufacturing Hub has selected five new feasibility studies for funding. The call for proposals was issued in November 2018. Each award of £50,000 will fund a six-month project, expanding the national research effort for composites manufacturing in the UK. The call received proposals from academic institutions across the UK.

Dutch composite tank containers save logistics costs

After two years of research, Europoort-based Flaxfield Tank Container Solutions and Wieringerwerf -based Composite Production Technology (CPT) in the Netherlands developed the lightest composite tank containers with high insulation. These containers have been in the market under the Tankwell brand name since 2015, and more than 400 are now in use.

Teijin to support Kogakuin University’s solar car project

CINE highlights demand in automotive, hygiene, eco

The third edition of the China International Nonwovens Expo & Forum (CINE - supported by Techtextil) highlighted that there was strong demand for nonwovens in the automotive, hygiene and eco sectors.
