INDA, a global association of nonwovens fabrics industry, has published its annual North American (NA) nonwovens supply report. The report finds that in 2018, NA nonwoven capacity increased to 5.17 million tonnes, a net increase of 3.4 per cent over 2017. The increase was due to addition of new lines, machine productivity increases and line closures.

Ineos Styrolution, leader in styrenics, is establishing a new production site for its successful composite StyLight. The move highlights growing customer demand for the composite. While the company prioritises a location in Germany, a specific location for the new production site is yet to be defined. The new site is planned to be operational in 2022.

Ahmedabad Textile Industry’s Research Association (ATIRA) will present two nanofibre based projects for investors at the one-day National Investors’ Conclave on Technical Textiles (NICTT), to be held in Coimbatore on April 24, 2019. ATIRA will present an antiviral facemask and a water filter cartridge bottle, both of them made using nanofibre.

Pacon Manufacturing Corporation, a manufacturer of wipes, pads, towels and others, has selected North Carolina (NC) for its new plant, creating 299 new jobs by investing $37.6 million. A performance-based grant of $300,000 from the One North Carolina Fund will help facilitate Pacon Manufacturing’s opening of its new facility in North Carolina.
