Nonwovens producer Suominen celebrates 120th anniversary

Suominen, a globally leading nonwovens company that manufactures roll goods for wipes, and medical and hygiene products, is celebrating its 120-year history. Juho Wiktor Suominen had established a tannery workshop in Nakkila, Finland on April 16, 1898. One of Suominen Corporation’s eight production plants continues to be located at the same site.

Drylock to open new production sites for Magical Tubes

Drylock Technologies, manufacturer of baby care, feminine care, and adult care services, is set to open two new European production sites for Drylock’s Magical Tubes proprietary absorbent core technology. The two new production sites, worth €200 million, will be located in Europe, with one in central Spain and the other in Hradek, Czech Republic.

Japanese team develops ultra-flexible organic photovoltaic

Japanese scientists have developed a super-thin organic solar cell that can be heat-printed onto clothes like a T-shirt design. The cells can power portable devices and wearable tech, doing away with the need for batteries. If affixed to tents, these could provide electricity outdoors or during disasters and can be folded up and put away when not used.
