OptiSpray provides flexible processing in variety of spray-up molds

Owens Corning, a leading global producer of glass fiber reinforcements for composite systems and residential and commercial building materials announced that its OptiSpray roving solutions are available globally.

Designed for spray-up processes in a variety of applications including marine, sanitary, swimming pools and transportation, OptiSpray solutions provide optimum wetting for good surface finish and mechanical strength in the finished product. The family of solutions includes OptiSpray, OptiSpray H and OptiSpray F rovings.

“This family of products is made with Owens Corning's patented Advantex glass fiber which combines the electrical and mechanical properties of traditional E-glass with the corrosion resistance of EC-R glass,” said Dr. Ashish Diwanji, Owens Corning vice president, innovations. “OptiSpray rovings are designed to provide optimal processing and performance for spray-up applications in a wide range of mold shapes and resin systems.”

OptiSpray solutions deliver performance benefits including easy chopping, rolling and air release; flat lay down and uniform dispersion; excellent conformability without spring back; optimal resin consumption and excellent performance in vertical parts. The result is a finished product with great surface quality and strong mechanical properties. Customer evaluations indicate OptiSpray solutions are outperforming other products currently available in the marketplace.
