Latest Austrian textile calender technology to be on show in China

June 06, 2012 - Austria

At the ITMA Asia 2012, hall W3, booth A6, ANDRITZ will present its innovative core technologies in drylaid, wetlaid, bonding, drying, and finishing, which perfectly complement each other in process solutions for a great variety of applications.

Through various own developments and the acquisition of the well-established and experienced companies ANDRITZ Küsters, ANDRITZ Perfojet, and ANDRITZ Asselin-Thibeau, ANDRITZ has successfully entered the technical textiles and nonwovens industries as a turnkey system supplier.

At the ITMA Asia, ANDRITZ will also present its latest developments in textile calender technology. By uniting forces in engineering and process development, ANDRITZ can provide comprehensive expertise and know-how in the nonwoven sector from nine locations worldwide. For the emerging markets, ANDRITZ is able to manufacture machines based on European design and quality standards.

ANDRITZ experts from all three nonwoven competence centers are present at ITMA Asia and will introduce their latest developments:

In the spunlace sector, ANDRITZ is the leading machine manufacturer, acting as system supplier and offering high-speed integrated production lines with unequalled energy efficiency ratio: The neXline spunlace, which includes carding system, hydroentanglement, dewatering, through-air dryer, and twin embossing calender, combines top technologies by ANDRITZ Asselin-Thibeau, ANDRITZ Perfojet, and ANDRITZ Küsters.

The optimum solution for top-speed spunlace lines for commodity products is a combination of Excelle card and Jetlace Essentiel, producing lightweight spunlace at very high capacity and low MD/CD ratio. For new, developing markets, the combination of the Axcess carding machine and the Jetlace Avantage hydroentanglement process is a proven concept, designed to produce lightweight fabrics at low operating costs.

In the production of needlepunch felts, the ACS system by ANDRITZ Asselin-Thibeau is the latest innovation in the crosslapping technology for durables markets. It is capable of handling bulky card webs when feeding a crosslapper. The ProDyn technology guarantees uniformity of the web. Combined with the needle loom series A50, this solution provides a clear competitive edge for producers of geotextiles.

For technical textiles, the calender experts from ANDRITZ Küsters will present a new roll system: The Xpro roll has been adapted from the proven ANDRITZ paper finishing technology and provides unique profiling for products that require ultimate flatness, such as sailcloth. The technical center in Krefeld, Germany, will include a new textile calender to optimize customer benefits. With this investment, ANDRITZ Küsters underlines its innovative approach for the textile industry.

For the nonwovens industry, ANDRITZ Küsters will present the neXdetect, a technology for reliable detection of stripe applications on nonwovens – making, for instance, striped hydrophilic finishing of nonwovens for the sanitary industry far easier.
