China's medical dressings exports to emerging markets shoot up
May 25, 2012 - China
The exports of medical dressings from China to emerging markets of the Middle East and Latin America have shown tremendous growth during the initial three months of the current year, owing to China’s market diversification strategy.
While China’s medical dressings exports to the Middle East surged by 57.76 percent year-on-year during the first quarter of 2012, those to Latin America soared by 28.52 percent, according to customs statistics.
In comparison, China’s exports of medical dressings to its traditional EU and North American markets rose marginally by 1.84 percent and 1.47 percent, respectively, during the January-March 2012 period.
However, Chinese medical dressings exports to its traditional markets still constituted a major share and accounted for 65.87 percent of overall Chinese exports of medical dressings during the period under review.
China’s exports of medical dressings to three countries, viz. the US, Japan and Germany, constituted 48.68 percent of total medical dressings exports during the first quarter of the current year, which is a slight decline compared to the 50.36 percent share the three countries had during the corresponding period of 2011.
Japan, Australia, South Korea and Germany were among the top ten markets for China’s medical dressings that witnessed a negative growth during the three-month period.
