Workshop on Industrial Technical Textiles at PSG

One day national workshop on “Industrial Technical Textiles - Products, Applications and Testing” will be held on 17th August 2011 at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. It will be organized by PSG Techs COE Indutech - Department of Textile Technology, Department of Fashion Technology & Department of Automobile Engineering. Last date for the receipt of application & registration is 15.08.11.
The workshop will focus on Technical Textile Nonwoven Products, their applications and scope for production. It will also cover the Tensile testing of Industrial textile products and Surface chemistry analysis. The sessions will be handled by experienced technical experts from Industry, Machinery manufacturers and International Testing companies.
The topic in this workshop will cover Needle punched Nonwoven Products, their production & application. Thermal and chemical bonded Nonwoven products, their production & application. TMTT & Government support Industrial textiles testing and methods (Yarns, Ropes, Cordages and Coated fabrics - Tensile Strength) Surface chemistry analysis of textile products.

About PSG Techs COE Indutech
Centre of Excellence (COE) for INDUTECH (Industrial Textiles) is a project funded by Ministry of Textiles under Technology Mission on Technical Textiles (TMTT) for the promotion of Technical Textiles. Ministry of Textiles has identified eight (8) sectors of Technical Textiles comprising Sportstech, Indutech, Meditech, Geotech, Composites, Nonwovens, Protech, Agrotech and are providing funds to a tune of 24.5 crore for each sector.
PSG College of Technology awarded a COE on Industrial Textiles sector in the month of March 2011. The COE will set up in 3 years and it will run on a self-sustainable basis. Some of the products identified under this sector are Filters, Coated Abrasives, Automobile car-pets, Scrubs and Interlinings.
Objectives of CEO are to focus on- the development of core industrial textile products; to provide International accredited testing facilities for all the INDUTECH & Technical Textile Products; to develop new product & commercializing them; to disseminate knowledge by organizing trainings; organizing workshops and conferences; to develop a product incubation centre to promote innovation and entrepreneurship.
