Seminar on Protective Textiles to be held on Jan 19

In an era when the textile industry is passing through a critical phase, with stiff competition both in the domestic as well as international markets, product diversification and value addition are the thrust areas for the textile industry to remain competitive in the years to come.

Though India is the second largest textile economy in the world, its contribution in the global technical textile industry is insignificant. The potential of technical textiles in India is still untapped. The innumerable diversification avenues in technical textiles present an excellent opportunity for the Indian textile industry to diversify.

Considering the above, South India Textile Research Association (SITRA), in collaboration with Textile Commissioner's office, Mumbai will be conducting a seminar on “Protective Textiles” for the benefit of the textile mills in the region.

The main objective of the seminar is to bring about greater awareness among textile technicians, regarding diversification possibilities in protective textiles and also to present various strategies to improve the quality of products manufactured therein.

The seminar will be greatly beneficial to all those involved in the technical textiles industry, Managing Directors and Senior Executives of Textile mills planning for diversification andnewventures in technical textiles. Renowned technical textiles experts as well as eminent speakers in the area of Protective Textiles (Protech) will be presenting papers of relevance and interest to the industry.

Participants registering for the seminar will receive a programme kit that includes reading materials of the various topics covered during the seminar as well as a CD-ROM containing the power-point presentations to be made during the seminar The seminar will be held at on January 19, 2011.

The timings will be 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
