A German delegation was recently in Ahmedabad - Gujarat to seek partners for either jointly set up technical textiles projects in Gujarat or technology sharing with Gujarat based entrepreneurs.

This visit was facilitated by the technical textiles division of IVGT, the biggest textiles association in Germany and ASSOCHAM in India. The delegation explored scope in agro textiles, medical textiles, sport textiles, automotive textiles and protective textiles.

The nine-member German delegation compromised of senior officials from Eurotextiles GmbH & Co., Nextrusion GmbH, Webatex GmbH, Ploucquet GmbH and IVGT.

Speaking exclusively to fibre2fashion from Germany, Mr Alexander Mock, Head (Global Sales) at Eurotextiles GmbH said, “We were in Gujarat to explore opportunities in technical textiles sector.”

He added, “The delegation explored mutual cooperation’s either for sharing technology or set up joint ventures, with Indian entrepreneurs. We also wanted to explore goods from the Indian technical textiles industry, which may find relevance in the European market.”

Mr Matthias Maier – Plant Manager at Ploucquet GmbH said, “We were exploring opportunities to share know-how with our Indian counterparts and hope something to fructify in the next two months.”

Eurotextiles GmbH already has offices in Mumbai and Chennai.
