NITRA Director highlights achievements of CoEs at Technotex

FICCI jointly with Ministry of Textiles organized the TECHNOTEX 2013 on January 17 & 18, at ITPO, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Participants from all the sub-sectors of Technical Textiles as well as from the diverse set of user segments including Army, Navy, Paramilitary forces, Railways, Border Roads Organization, Hospitals, Construction companies etc. attended the conference and exhibition.

The objective was to showcase the latest technological developments, facilities and services on R & D and quality control available in the area of technical textiles. The event provided opportunities to all the stakeholders to interact with each other, formally through B2Bs and Buyer Seller meets.

Lot of discussions were held on the Centres of Excellence (CoE), established by Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India under the scheme of Technology Mission on Technical Textiles.

Dr. J.V. Rao, Director General NITRA, on behalf of all eight CoEs made presentation on “CoEs contribution to Indian Stakeholders and Way Forward for International Linkages”.

He explained the achievements of CoEs, benefits accrued and their contributions for the growth of Indian technical textile industry. He also pointed out the kind of association CoEs desire with international agencies – Technical textile manufacturers, Importers, Trade associations and other CoEs.
