Ecoya dyeing process to be presented at Performance Days
October 25, 2012 - Germany
Highly-ecological Ecoya solution-dyed yarns of Libolon offer excellent performance such as light- and water-fastness while also protecting the ecosystem and environment at the same time. Compared with regular fabrics the new Ecoya dyeing process does not waste natural resources and saves up to 89% of water consumption and 63% of energy.
Libolon, the umbrella brand of the Taiwan-based Li Peng Enterprise Co. Ltd., will be showcasing its new range of Ecoya solution-dyed yarns at the upcoming Performance Days on November 12th-14th in Munich. The innovative dyeing process cuts CO2 emissions by 62% and reduces COD waste water by 67%. Ecoya further minimizes the use of water and chemicals compared to traditional dyeing processes by respectively 89% and 63%.
The high quality process offers excellent technical performances like color fastness, water-fastness, washing-fastness, anti-UV and color reproducibility. There is no risk of migration to the lining fabric and dark and light colours can be freely combined. LIBOLON guarantees color fastness to washing, water, perspiration, and rubbing to 4~5 degrees. In addition, colour fastness is guaranteed to 4 degrees after 400 hours under the sunlight test.
Ecoya is dope dyed fiber, its color originates from the addition of color chips in the process of polymerization, so Ecoya can save most dyeing procedures. Despite traditional dyeing processes Ecoya solution-dyed yarns need much less resources and show a much lighter environmental footprint than regular dyed fabrics – see table below.
Ecoya also offers the technology to produce awning fabrics and nylon textured yarn.
