A.Celli launched multi-colour printing technology to serve the nonwovens market

May 07, 2011 - Italy

A.Celli Nonwovens has recently introduced to the market the technology for turnkey printing plant systems by equipping its high speed, multifunctional lamination lines with printing capabilities. A.Celli printing technology has been developed to provide the possibility of multi-colour printing to serve the nonwovens market with the highest quality of print on nonwovens. Roll goods producer can now add aesthetic benefits to their products (either nonwovens or PE/PP film or tissue) that converters are now looking for to empower their brands with designs and images for product differentiation. In mature markets such as the European and North American ones, it's all about differentiation, consumer appeal and vibrancy of product.

The Printing Technology

The integrated combination of unwind stand/s, printing machine, in-line slitting winder and/or off-line slitter-rewinder allows printing on different types of nonwovens to create sophisticated decorative materials that enhance the consumer experience. A.Celli Nonwovens is capable of offering different printing techniques which include the traditional water based and solvent based and the revolotionary UV Flexo printing.

Advantages of UV Compared To Traditional Printing Technology

-Higher quality printing: possibility of having all different colour hues only using the four base colours;
-Utilization of smaller quantity of ink (50% less than solvent based; 40% less than water based);
-Non-hazardous to the environment;
-Easier maintenance (cleaning operations are less due to UV properties)

UV Flexo Printing Machine Available For In-house Testing

The advantages of UV Flexo printing technology compared to the traditional printing technology, led A.Celli Nonwovens to develop a pilot line that was exhibited at INDEX11 in Geneva in April, based on the UV concept. Potential customers now have the possibility to make dedicated printing tests with their material and their product images to see with their own eyes the benefits of this new technique.
