New composites manufacturer focuses on braiding, RTM
February 01, 2011 - United States Of America
A new company, Revolution Composites (Norwood, Mass., USA) on Feb. 1 opened its doors for the first time to supply the composite community with high-quality custom braided fabrics (carbon and glass), net shaped preforms and finished molded components.
The company was founded by hands-on engineering professionals with more than 35 years of combined experience in braiding, hand layup and closed molding (resin transfer molding and vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding) of composite structures for the aerospace, defense and commercial markets.
David Dahlheimer, manager of the firm, says the business will focus initially on braiding services and products, but he expects that fabrication services will eventually account for about 50 percent of the company's business.
