Ruth Metzler-Arnold (47), an attorney and federally certified auditor, headed the Swiss Federal Department of Justice and Police during five years after serving for three years as the Director of Finance of the Canton of Appenzell I.Rh. Before that, she worked for eight years in the Audit and Consulting department of PricewaterhouseCoopers. After her time in the Swiss government, she first headed the Legal Department of Novartis France, where she was also Member of the Executive Management. She then assumed overall responsibility for Investor Relations at this Basel-based pharmaceutical company. Today, Ruth Metzler has her own consultancy firm together with two partners: KLAUS-METZLER-ECKMANN Strategy, Management, Communications. She is Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of OSEC and Vice-President of the Hospital Association of the Canton of Appenzell a.Rh. With the election of Ruth Metzler, the supervisory body of Bühler is strengthening its competence in the areas of strategy, finance, and auditing.
