Technical textiles to be covered in CAT 2012 in new Tunisia

Following a period of economic uncertainty and concerns, new Tunisia is now ready to meet new challenges and offer new investment opportunities in the industry at the upcoming international “Business and Technology Convention”, CAT 2012 .
This event will be held on November 28-30, 2012 by API, the Industry Promotion and Innovation Agency in association with the Tunisian Union for Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA), with the cooperation of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) and the Export Promotion Center (CEPEX). CAT 2012 intends to offer a real platform for businesses, where decision makers and leaders from various horizons can meet and share supply and demand opportunities in innovative sectors with high growth potential:
• Mechanical/electrical/electronic industries
• Agrofood
• Technical plastics and plasturgy
• Technical textiles
• New information and communication technologies
• Pharmaceuticals
This event aims to:
Favor Tunisian industry’s integration in the Euro-Mediterranean economic space, notably by means of international technology and innovation networks, which will help to:
• raise the level of integration and increase the added value of goods manufactured in Tunisia
• advance innovative initiatives with high technological content
• Promote the strengths of Tunisian entrepreneurship in the areas of partnership and investment
• Give greater visibility to Tunisia’s competitiveness as a regional production and export base, with regard to the large pool of readily available highly skilled human resources open to technology
• Give concrete form to innovative initiatives with high technological content
• Show investors from all over - Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Arab world - that Tunisia remains an advantageous site with competitive incentives, an enabling business environment, and a transparent regulatory framework
• Alleviate regional disparity by highlighting the resources and potential of the country’s inland regions
A range of facilities will be provided for three days to facilitate all kinds of exchanges in the various components of the CAT 2012 business and technology convention.
