Berkshire introduces nonwoven wiper Surex

December 29, 2010 - United States Of America

Berkshire Corporation, a manufacturer of contamination control products for cleanroom and critical environments, introduces Surex, a new class of polyester/cellulose cleanroom nonwoven wiper that is critically clean and absorbent.

While traditional polyester/cellulose nonwoven wipers have adequate absorbency, these wipers tend to have much higher fiber and particle counts causing concerns for potential contamination. Some specially treated wipers have lower particle and fiber counts but these wipers often have low absorbency, sacrificing a critical component of a wiper's functionality. Surex was developed through a proprietary manufacturing process resulting in an ultra-clean wiper with low particles, fibers, and ions without sacrificing absorbency or softness.

In a wiper performance comparison test (IEST standardized test methods) done through a third party test lab, Surex outperformed conventional nonwoven wipers with 32x lower in fiber counts and 7x lower in particle counts. In addition, Surex has the lowest non-volatile residues and ion traces compared to wipers in its class.

Surex is suitable for cleanroom applications (ISO class 5-8) in pharmaceutical, medical device, electronics, laboratory, semiconductor, and industrial controlled environments. Surex is available in dry and pre-wetted versions. Product evaluation samples are available immediately through contacting Berkshire Corporation.
