China Hygiene Exhibition beckons for Technical Absorbents – CIHPEC 2011

UK-based Technical Absorbents, part of the Bluestar Fibres Company Limited, will be exhibiting its Super Absorbent Fibre (SAF®) technology at CIHPEC next month.
CIHPEC 2011 is the 18th China International Tissue/Disposable Hygiene Products Exhibition and Conference organised by the China National Household Paper Industry Association (CNHPIA) and will be held at the Qingdao International Convention Center, Shangdong, China on 11th to 13th May 2011. With unique features of sizable exhibit space, industry expertise, top qualified visitors and practical high level seminars, CIHPEC 2011 appeals to professionals from the hygiene industry in China and across Asia.
Visitors to the Technical Absorbents stand number 8609, can discuss opportunities on how to utilise SAF® technology within various markets and applications, which today include food packaging, diagnostic packaging, hygiene products, dental, medical applications such as wound care, performance apparel, coolant technology, cable yarns and tapes, geo/agro-textiles and filtration.
SAF® is produced in a range of fibre absorbency grades, lengths and dtex, and also in filament and polymer solution form. •SAF® is a cross-linked polymer (three different monomers) of acrylic acid (AA) methylacrylate (MA) and a small quantity of a special acrylate/methacrylate monomer (SAMM). The reaction between the acid groups in acrylic acid and the hydroxyl groups in hydroxpropylmethacrylate result in ester groups. These are formed as a result of cross-links between polymer chains.
