Terram goes from strength to strength

March 23, 2011 - United Kingdom

Following the strategic acquisition of Boddingtons Ltd, a leading UK based specialist geosynthetic film, mesh and net manufacturer, Fiberweb plc, a multi-national manufacturer of high performance nonwoven fabrics for the global hygiene, medical, technical and industrial markets, announces the formation of a new division, and a force in geosynthetics across the globe – Fiberweb Geosynthetics.

Fiberweb Geosynthetics division has been created to maximise the synergy between collective product ranges, and comprises not only the Terram and the Boddingtons brands in the UK, the US, Australia and Germany but also Fiberweb’s Typar brand in the US and the global DefenCell business.

The integration of the businesses and their respective brands, operating from six sites across the globe with a strong background and proven excellence within the Civil, Construction, Military, Industrial, Filtration, Horticulture & Landscaping sectors, offers enhanced commercial opportunities, as well as adding value to existing customers through a significantly expanded product portfolio.

Martin Lambley, Marketing Manager of Fiberweb Geosynthetics commented: “The integration of Fiberweb’s geosynthetic businesses into the new division is a natural progression in our organisations ongoing customer-focused growth strategy. Merging the businesses makes perfect commercial sense, they have a highly complementary range of product and services and there has been a long standing supply relationship between them.

Pooling resources will give a deeper understanding of key distribution, as well as opening up more routes to market and significantly expanding our product portfolio. We are also pleased to announce that the merger will strongly support innovation and development of new products including investment in new manufacturing technologies.”

The new Fiberweb Geosynthetics division will be led by John Warner, formerly CEO of Boddingtons Ltd, from its site in Maldon, Essex and supported by a management team comprising experienced individuals from the businesses that comprise the new division.

Terram’s management, accounting and customer services are currently being transferred to Maldon and certain manufacturing functions will move over during the next few months. The Terram brand will continue to evolve and as of 1 April 2011, Terram Ltd will commence trading under the name Fiberweb Geosynthetics.

Terram will provide the same products and service levels on which we have built our reputation in the industry. Currently, all our contact details will remain the same and we will keep you up to date on further changes through direct contact and through our website.

As a valued customer, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you, and appreciate your continued understanding in this matter and look forward to developing our new business with your ongoing support.
