Versatile interior glass adds more glamour to hotel rooms
October 29, 2012 - United Kingdom
The role of interior glass in adding more space and glamour to smaller hotel rooms will be showcased at Sleep 2012 in a partnership between GLASSOLUTIONS and architect Yasmine Mahmoudieh.
Versatile interior glass products, utilising fabric interlayers and coloured laminates from GLASSOLUTIONS, are being used to create a spacious feel in one of the 23sq.m concept rooms at the Sleep Hotel, which is a key feature of the exhibition that takes place on November 21 and 22 at the Building Design Centre, London.
Yasmine said: “My concept combines fine traditional materials with innovative ecological ones. For a rather small room I wanted to still experience space and therefore I decided on curvilinear walls that almost overlap and guide one into the space. The bathroom is divided by a unique translucent glass wall, using TEX GLASS which has beautiful fabric by Nya Nordiska encapsulated inside. The dividing screens within the bathroom are STADIP COLOR, in an orange sunset hue, which creates a beautiful warmth.”
DESIRE, a brand new concept in LED illuminated mirrors, developed by GLASSOLUTIONS, also features in the design and will be unveiled to the UK market for the first time at the show.
The hotel room design will be entered into The Sleep Hotel – Best Guest Room Award, and will be seen by more than 3000 hotel owners, designers and developers.
TEX GLASS and STADIP COLOR are amongst the products featured in a new interior glass interactive online tool developed by GLASSOLUTIONS.
Kathryn Dalgleish, GLASSOLUTIONS marketing manager for the commercial sector said: “We have an extensive range of interior glass products that have been developed as part of an ongoing £2m investment programme. The range is ideal for hotel environments and provides designers and architects with greater creative freedom to produce inspirational yet practical spaces.
“We are specialists in providing the glass solutions that deliver enviable results. Yasmine has created a wonderful design and is setting the bar very high in this competition.”
