Thrace Linq geotextiles meet US roads AASHTO regulations

March 04, 2013 - United States Of America

THRACE LINQ, a global supplier of woven and nonwoven performance fabrics for a wide variety of textile applications, successfully complies with AASHTO’s NTPEP Geotextile Technical Committee Work Plan.

On March 1, 2012, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) in conjunction with the National Transportation Product Evaluation Program (NTPEP) developed an audit program for geotextiles to provide a uniform program which allows for all prime manufacturers and private label manufacturers to be held to the same standards, whether located in the United States or in another country.
The program provides assurance that the geosynthetics used by regulatory agencies are produced and tested to high quality standards. The audit program consists of a desktop review of a company’s Quality Management System (QMS) once every 5 years and a yearly on-site audit of each plant that has products tested thru NTPEP.

“On December 31, 2012, AASHTO’s NTPEP completed its audit of materials and processing used by THRACE LINQ to manufacture needle-punch nonwoven fabrics for the geotextiles market and to comply with AASHTO’s NTPEP Geotextiles Technical Committee Work Plan,” says managing director and vice president operations Davis Taylor, who also congratulated its work assembly for receiving this industry certification.
