New EDANA board more diversified than ever

May 17, 2013 - Belgium

EDANA, the international Association serving the nonwovens and related industries, has announced its new Board of Governors for 2013-2015, the most international Board ever, with representatives from across Europe, the Middle East, United States and Asia.

Continuing the tradition to give a voice to companies, the Board is voted by Association members via electronic voting or by those present at the Annual General Meeting at the International Nonwovens Symposium, currently underway in St Petersburg, Russia.

Patricia Featherstone (RKW) has been re-elected Chair of the Board of Governors. She will be supported by returning vice-co-Chairpersons Gerd Ries (Johnson & Johnson), and Jean-Marie Becker (Suominen Nonwovens).  Treasurer Paul Eevers (Unilever) will also continue to serve for another term.

New Governors, serving until 2016 include Claus Dallner from BASF SE Fiberbonding, (Germany), Frank Heislitz from Freudenberg Nonwovens Group (Germany), Ulrika Kolsrud from SCA Hygiene Products AB (Sweden), Betty Mei from 3M (China), and Laura Raitio from Ahlstrom Corporation (Finland).

Patricia Featherstone thanked all members – representing the breadth of the nonwovens and related industries – for their continued service, and their ongoing work which serves to position EDANA as ever more focused on its members and the service it delivers to the nonwovens and related industries.

Outlining her continued vision for the Association’s support to the industry, Patricia reaffirmed her support for EDANA’s activities on behalf of and for the nonwovens and related industries.

In welcoming the new Board, Pierre Wiertz, General Manager of EDANA said “I am delighted to welcome the new Governors.  EDANA’s global vision has been shown in the last 12 months with support to our partner associations in North America and Asia, and the Association’s first ever event in South East Asia with OUTLOOK Asia.  As our members grow ever more international, so must our Board of Governors, and the Association’s activities to support the drive and activities of our member companies.”
