Quality assurance services in technical textile from AITEX

AITEX (Textile Industry Research Association) was set up in 1985 as an initiative of the Valencian Regional Government, through the Valencian Institute for Small and Medium Industry (IMPIVA).

It is currently the leading centre for research, innovation and advanced technical services available to the textile, manufacturing and technical textile sectors.

AITEX is a private non-profit association that encompasses textile and textile-related companies. The ultimate aim of the AITEX is to make textile sector more competitive.

To achieve this, the institute promotes modernisation and the introduction of new and emerging technologies by developing R&D projects and, in general, any initiatives that will contribute to the industrial progress of the sector.

Kunwar Venkteshwar Singh, Country Manager, AITEX India said, “The Technical Textile industry has immense potential in the developing countries. Asia is now emerging as a powerhouse of both production as well as end-use consumption of technical textiles.

"China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and other developing countries, particularly India has great potential to make an impact in this industry in the coming decade. The demand for technical textiles will be boosted by the changing economic scenario in these countries. Considering its highly skilled and scientific/ technical manpower and abundant availability of raw material, India can emerge as a key player in the technical textiles industry”.

AITEX provides quality assurances services for all kind of technical textile products i.e Automotive Textiles, Medical Textiles, Personal Protective Clothing, Geotextiles, and Sport Textiles etc. AITEX has been providing services of Certification of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Indian manufacturers for Electrostatic and Electrical Protection, Thermal Protection, High Visibility Protection, Chemical Protection, Mechanical and Ballistic Protection.

It is expected to have a good growth in PPE in India and also, AITEX looks forward to introduce its Automotive and Transport Laboratory in Spain to Indian manufacturers to get the quality assurance services and certification as per the international standards for their textiles and other materials used in automotive sector.
