July 26, 2013 - China

The World Textile Information Network (WTiN) and RISI Inc. announced that they are jointly organizing the first-ever Asia Pacific Nonwovens Symposium, planned for October 22, 2013 in Shanghai, China. This event will bring together industry participants from the global nonwovens marketplace to learn about regional market and technical trends under the title “Transforming Nonwovens Business Through Technology Innovation.”

With the twin focus on market drivers and technological trends, participants will gain an understanding of challenges and opportunities for those doing business in the next few years in the Asia Pacific region, especially in China’s huge and fast-growing marketplace for disposable and durable nonwovens fabrics.

The Asia Pacific Nonwovens Symposium is sponsored by INDA, Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry and the China Nonwoven and Industrial Textile Association. It will be held at the Sheraton Shanghai Hotel & Residences Pudong in Shanghai. It will take place the day before the beginning of the SINCE ’13 exhibition, also being held in Shanghai.

Presentations during the morning session will focus on developments in nonwoven technology affecting the Asia Pacific region, looking in detail at the spunmelt, meltblown, carded and needlepunch platforms. The afternoon session will examine trends in key applications in the region, with an emphasis on hygiene, medical fabrics, filtration and automotive materials.
