RCS receives USCG contract for lightweight body armor

In a milestone accomplishment, Reed Composite Solutions, (RCS) – a newcomer to the personal protection market in the US and internationally – has received its first competitively awarded federal contract for the production of “Stand Alone” lightweight composite body armor capable of defeating the most lethal threats encountered by Homeland Security personnel. The contract has a value of approximately $279,000.

RCS’s advanced composite armor manufacturing techniques will be used to insure a 60 day on-time delivery to the United States Coast Guard from the award of the contract.

RCS CEO Ryan Reed commented: “We are extremely pleased to have been awarded this body armor contract. While limited in quantity, we feel this award clearly demonstrates that RCS is an emerging technology leader in the personal protection business. Our body armor designs and performance are a leap forward for National Security Personnel as well as our Warfighters.
