September 25, 2013 - Japan
Teijin Limited announced that it will participate in Tokyo International Fire and Safety Exhibition 2013, which will take place at Tokyo Big Site from October 2 to 5.
The Teijin booth (hall 2, stand 21) will showcase high-performance protective apparel solutions incorporating the group’s proprietary Teijinconex heat-resistant and flame-retardant meta-aramid fiber, and Twaron and Technora high-strength para-aramid fibers technologies, such as:
A next-generation firefighter suit
Teijin will showcase a firefighter suit that offers the world's highest levels of heat-protection performance in a comfortable, lightweight design, achieved with the use of Teijin-developed aramid fiber fabric.
Heat-resistant, highly dyeable uniform
Teijin will present a prototype of a work uniform made with a newly developed meta-aramid fiber offering the world’s highest levels of heat resistance combined with excellent dyeablility.
Stretchable aramid fiber fabric
Leveraging Teijin’s fiber technologies, this highly stretchable aramid fabric has been developed to enhance comfort and increase range of motion in uniforms worn in physically demanding work such as search and rescue.
Radiation-shielding fabric
Produced by blending radiation-shielding tungsten particles with Technora para-aramid fiber, this fabric offers radiation protection that corresponds to the amount of tungsten blended combined with flexibility and workability enabling applications that cannot be achieved with lead plates or concrete.
It is ideal for use in environments where workers need the mobility to handle tools while being protected from not only radiation but also hot objects, sharp-edged rubble and other danger.
In addition to assuring top-level protection, fabrics made with Teijin’s advanced aramid fibers also provide a wide range of features characteristic of high-quality garments, including excellent comfort, appearance, durability and easy washing and maintenance.
Teijin, which commands a leading share of the Japanese market for firefighter suits, will continue to strengthen capabilities in growing domestic and international markets for protective apparel.
