BASF to discuss aerospace composites at US trade show
September 28, 2013 - United States Of America
BASF Corporation will demonstrate high performance composites that make aerospace parts lighter and more sustainable at the 2012 Transportation Weight Loss Diet Conference at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Ralph Maier, Ph.D., Technology Manager for Aerospace at BASF Corporation will present “BASF aerospace materials for aircraft light-weighting applications”.
The talk will cover BASF's innovative light-weighting solutions which can increase manufacturability, functionality, and passenger well-being, highlighting sustainable aspects of the solutions.
Examples will include:
-thermoplastic solutions for aircraft interiors and seating structures,
-microcellular lightweight rubber replacements,
-ultra-light non-flammable thermo- and noise-insulation foam, and,
-advancements in innovative, comfortable, and lightweight seat cushioning.
The Transportation Weight Loss Diet Conference will bring together designers, engineers, program leaders and heads of industry from the global aerospace, automotive and rail industries for a two-day conference dedicated to cutting-edge research and technologies aimed at reducing weight and decreasing carbon footprint, without compromising safety, efficiency or operational ability.
