93 firms partake in South Korean technical textiles expo

South Korea’s largest expo of high-tech industrial fabric, materials and technical textiles, the Busan International Techtextile and Material Exhibition 2013 (BITFAS 2013), which concluded recently in the city of Busan, saw participation of 93 technical textile companies from different countries including Japan, Taiwan and China, showcasing their products.
 
The 6th edition of the event, organized by the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) and the Busan Ulsan Kyungnam Industrial Textile Industry Association, was held concurrently with the Busan International Textile and Fashion Show 2013, and the Busan Fashion Week 2013.
 
Over 195 booths of the firms at the exhibition showcased various technical textile and industrial textiles products, including transportation textiles, marine textiles, medical textiles, protective textiles, textiles for construction, textiles for engineering, sports and leisure textiles, geotextiles, industrial materials and textile machineries.
 
The main aim of hosting the expo was to bring together leading technical and industrial textile firms from South Korea and other countries from Asia, in order to exchange latest information regarding the growing trends in the technical textiles sector, as well as provide these firms with an opportunity to establish contacts for trade purposes. 
 
Leading Korean textile associations and industrial textiles research institutes, such as DYETEC Research Institute, Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, Carbon Fusion Technology Institute, Institute of Knit Industry, Textile Development Institute, Korea Textile Trade Association, Korea Institute of Jacquard Fabric also participated in the three-day event
 
Under the technical textile event, the BITFAS 2013 Awards were also held, where technical textile firms which showcased latest innovations were honored.
