Based on independent laboratory tests, Ecogel S1PA has demonstrated its ability to help cut total styrene emissions by over 55%.
It has been extensively tested by several key composite fabricators including LM Wind Power, which now uses Ecogel S1PA in all its wind blade production plants globally.
As well as low styrene gelcoats, Scott Bader will also be promoting its extensive range of infusion resins, offering EHS focused converters a full package of low VOC options for moulding high quality fibre reinforced composite parts.
Opposite the Scott Bader stand in the show’s 'Features Area' visitors will also be able to look around an Ultima GTR sports car. This high performance kit car is manufactured by Ultima Sports Ltd., which uses Crystic VE679PA resin and Crystic 32PA gelcoat for the composite body panels of its sports cars.
During the show, Scott Bader will also be promoting other high performance resins, gelcoats and adhesive products. This will include two new Crestabond M7-05 and M7-15 1:1 ratio adhesive grades, which extends the primer-less methacrylate structural adhesives range with 1:1 as well as 10:1 ratio Crestabond options.
Technical data from Scott Bader shows that the new 1:1 ratio grades are particularly good at bonding galvanised metal and other difficult to bond metals and plastics, offering end users superior adhesion performance and toughness.
The Crestabond methacrylate adhesives range is offered alongside Scott Bader’s long established Crestomer urethane acrylate adhesives, which have been used for many years in the most demanding fibreglass structural applications in marine, building and construction markets.
Also being featured during this year’s UK Composites Engineering show is Scott Bader’s Crestapol range of high performance acrylic resins, including the latest addition to the range, Crestapol 1250LV which is highly versatile.
It has unique properties which can provide a high level of toughness and flexibility, even when reinforced with glass or carbon fibres. Crestapol 1250LV is a low viscosity urethane acrylate type acrylic resin which is suitable for infusion, resin transfer moulding (RTM), pultrusion and filament winding at room temperature.
Other grades of Crestapol will also be on display. All grades of Crestapol resin can be heavily ATH filled to meet demanding fire, smoke and toxicity (FST) performance regulations, with glass fibre and carbon fibre reinforcement grade options. According to Scott Bader, its Crestapol high performance urethane acrylate based acrylic resins bridge the technology gap between polyesters and epoxy resins.
Scott Bader has developed a wide range of products designed for composite applications in key markets such as: chemical containment, marine, land transportation, wind energy and buildings.
Technical and commercial representatives will be on the Scott Bader stand throughout the show to discuss any projects and answer questions about the entire range of Crystic unsaturated polyester, DCPD and vinyl ester resins, skin coats, gelcoats, tooling products, pigments, bonding pastes and structural adhesives specialty products.
