Hexcel’s composites used in mission to Mars

Hexcel’s composite materials were widely used in the Mars Orbiter Mission by Indian Space Research Organisation ISRO in the program destined to orbit Mars.

The took off from Satish Dhawan Space Centre on India’s east coast and is set to travel for 300 days, reaching Mars orbit in 2014.

HexPly high modulus prepregs, HexWeb honeycomb cores and Redux film adhesives were used in the light weight composite structures.
