Beaulieu Technical Textiles, a subsidiary of Belgium-based Beaulieu International Group, has opened a new production facility at Weihai, in China’s Shandong province.

 

The new plant spread across 23,000 sq m of area will mainly produce carpet backings, agrotextiles and geo-textiles.

 

With its latest investment, BIG aims to make its polymer textiles more accessible to major customers in China and the Far East.

 

BIG already has a production plant for floor coverings in Rizhao, also in Shandong province, and a sales office and showroom in Shanghai.

 

BIG employs about 3,500 people across its 30 production facilities spread across eight countries. In 2012, the Group’s turnover was €1.4 billion, according to the company’s website.
