Sympatex to expand technical textiles division

January 16, 2014 - Germany

As a result of the forward-looking full placement of a corporate bond in November 2013, Sympatex Technologies GmbH will substantially expand its latest division "Tection" (Technical Applications). The aim is to consistently develop innovative technologies and products in the area of industrial applications.

In order to strengthen this area, Sympatex is enlarging the responsible team at the moment: Stefan Brandt, 46, who has been in charge of industrial applications (Tection) in addition to the business area "Footwear" since July 2012, will fully focus on the position as area manager of "Tection" from 1st February 2014. There will be further personnel enlargements especially in the areas of development and project management.

As a consequence, all four Sympatex business areas will be led by independent area managers from 1st February 2014. Also from 1st February 2014, Monica Billes will again be in charge of the business area "Footwear", which she already managed successfully until mid-2012.

"By expanding our forward-looking business area "Tection", we take account of the increasing importance of technical textiles worldwide. We focus on establishing the "Tection" area as another important field of activity for the company," explains Michael Kamm, CEO Sympatex Technologies GmbH.

In the "Tection" area, a multitude of interesting applications and projects in the fields of medicine, automotive engineering and industry exist already today. The development team, for example, is working on solutions to increase comfort and improve the protection of the skin for medical applications as well as on dehumidification and humidification systems for several application areas but also on textile systems to improve the seating comfort in vehicles and on functional covering systems for various outdoor applications.
