Valmet makes it to UN Global Compact initiative

Valmet Corporation has been approved as a corporate member of the UN Global Compact initiative (UNGC) as of January 13, 2014. Signing of the initiative strengthens Valmet's commitment to sustainable operations.

The UN Global Compact is the world's largest corporate responsibility initiative, which was announced in 2000 by Kofi Annan, the former Secretary-General of the UN. It has over 8,000 business and non-business participants in 135 countries.

Members of the initiative are committed to voluntarily following the ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption in their businesses. Valmet's operations are aligned with these principles.
