February 05, 2014 - India

The South India Textile Research Association (SITRA) is organizing a two-day medical textiles expo and conference – “Meditex 2014” from February 28 to March 1 at the COE Expo hall – SITRA premises at Coimbatore.

Concurrent to Meditex 2014, will also be Medineeds 2014, which will be a trade show and will display a huge range of medical and surgical products and equipment. Medineeds is a show which attracts end-users (hospital owners and administrators) as well as dealers.

This expo provides a cost effective and accessible opportunity for healthcare entrepreneurs, management professionals and physicians. With wider options of medical equipment and technologies, delegates can exercise the right choice in procurement.

Medical textiles have emerged as one of the fastest growing segments in the global textiles market and have found novel applications in many medical and surgical procedures. From Rs. 1,514 crore in 2007-08, the domestic consumption on Meditech is expected to reach around Rs.6000 crore by the year 2015-16. The growth is expected more than 10% per year compounded in the coming years.

It is no big news that healthcare sector is one of the fastest growing industries in India. Even in the current economic slowdown, many new investments have been initialised in this sector. Increase in the number of affordable middle class, rise in insured population, widening demand supply gap, growing number of lifestyle diseases, are some of the factors which are fuelling this growth.

So mark the dates on your calendar and be sure to be present either as an exhibitor or a dealer at the medical textiles exhibition and conference.
