Spirit AeroSystems delivers 5000th next-gen 737 to Boeing

Spirit AeroSystems Inc. announced it has successfully completed 5,000 Next-Generation 737 deliveries to Boeing. Spirit has been delivering Next-Generation 737s from Wichita since 1998. The company builds the 737 fuselage, engine struts and nacelles in Wichita and wing components in its Tulsa, Okla. facility.

"This is a significant milestone for Spirit and we look forward to building on this partnership as we move to the next variant on the 737 the 737 MAX."
 
The 737 is Spirit's largest program. Spirit is currently delivering 42 737s per month to Boeing. It delivered the first Next-Generation 737 in 1998 and has delivered more than 8,000 737s in all, including the 737 Classic.
