Spirit AeroSystems adds John Plueger to BoD

Spirit AeroSystems Inc. announced the appointment of John L. Plueger to its board of directors effective immediately.
"John is a prominent leader in the aerospace industry who brings a wealth of experience to the table," said Chairman Bob Johnson, Spirit AeroSystems board of directors. "We are very pleased to welcome John to the Spirit board, and believe it will be particularly valuable for him to share his expertise from the perspective of the airframe customer. In addition to joining the board, John will serve on the audit committee."
Plueger, 60, has three decades of aviation industry leadership experience and is currently president and chief operating officer, and a member of the Air Lease Corporation (ALC) Board, posts he has held since 2010. Prior to ALC, Plueger spent 23 years in top executive roles with International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), including CEO, president and chief operating officer. He is an active jet pilot with multiple jet type ratings as well as single-engine, multi-engine and instrument instructor ratings.
Plueger holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA, is a Certified Director from the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management Corporate Director Certification Program, and also a certified public accountant, having received his training from Price Waterhouse. Plueger serves on the board of directors of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C., Pepperdine University's Board of Regents, and The Wings Club Board of Governors.
