Smart textiles developer Ohmatex names Østergaard as CEO

Denmark based – Ohmatex, which works with leading European technology companies on developing smart textiles in the space, medical, sports and safety sectors has named Klaus Østergaard as the new CEO.
As pioneers in smart textile development, Ohmatex has attracted investment from the Danish Growth Fund (Vækstfonden) and from private investors in 2014, which has helped it increase its production capabilities and R&D activities.
Klaus Østergaard who will lead Ohmatex in to a new phase of commercial development was formerly at Vestergaard Frandsen Group, which specializes in disease control textiles as Executive Regional Director.
He brings to Ohmatex extensive experience of managing complex international commercial projects, developing manufacturing and production capabilities and new intelligent technology development.
In addition he has managed a large sales force and teams which have included technical, logistics and brand managers.
Ohmatex says there has been seen significant growth in textile integrated wearables in 2014 and it is being approached by an increasing number of companies in the US, Europe and Asia, who wish to utilize its expertise and skills in sports, medical, fashion and protective clothing applications.
“It is the ideal time for us to grow our own capacity to meet these demands”, Ohmatex adds.
Christian Dalsgaard, in the role of Chief Technical Officer (CTO), will focus on leading technical development, continuing to keep Ohmatex at the forefront of new innovations in smart textiles with our highly motivated and experienced team of electronic and textile engineers and designers.
