Web Industries named as 3M medical preferred converter
March 11, 2015 - United States Of America
Web Industries, Inc., a leading provider of contract converting and manufacturing services in the medical device, advanced composites, consumer products, and wire & cable markets, has been named a 3M Medical Specialties Preferred Converter by 3M’s Medical Specialties business unit.
The new status is expected to allow companies to streamline their supply chains by using Web Industries as their single point of contact for 3M materials, intermediate converting services, and contract manufacturing and assembly solutions. By providing a one-stop shop for all of these services, Web can eliminate redundant transportation costs and reduce project management administrative overhead while improving manufacturing efficiencies, Web Industries said in a press release.
Leading medical device companies rely on Web to be their preferred outsource converting and manufacturing partner for a range of medical products, including IVD and PoC tests, medical disposables, and micro-fluidic devices, and over the last two decades the company has delivered over 100 billion medical tests.
Mark Pihl, chief operations officer for Web Industries said, “Using a single company like Web for component material sourcing, high-value precision converting, and contract manufacturing can reduce medical device companies’ costs significantly. We’re honoured to receive this recognition from 3M. It validates all of the hard work and reinvestment in our employee-owners, manufacturing equipment, and processes we’ve created to better meet the needs of the medical device market.”
Utilizing the widest array of slitting, spooling, and winding configurations in the business, Web Industries formats composites, nonwovens, and specialty films, papers, foils, laminates, and foams for downstream manufacturing. The company specializes in developing optimized material processing solutions that deliver converted materials on custom-designed spools, planetary rolls, planetary pads for efficient, and cost-effective product manufacturing.
