Combat launches new Maxum bat with longest barrel

March 26, 2015 - Canada

Combat, a leading developer, designer and manufacturer of elite baseball and softball bats and apparel, has unveiled Maxum, a revolutionary line of bats that utilizes proprietary precision moulded seamless construction to extend the length of the barrel without sacrificing weight, balance, or feel.

The Combat Maxum line uses multiple thinner layers of composite materials to increase durability, reduce the swing weight and extend the barrel length. Unlike most bats, which consist of rolled sheet materials with seams in each layer, Maxum bats are made using seamless fibre pre-forms that extend all the way around and along the barrel. By combining these thinner, seamless layers of carbon with fibreglass, Combat engineers are able to create lighter, longer and more durable bats without compromising swing weight, the company said in a statement.

Stephen Fitzgerald, senior director of engineering, Combat said, “When it comes to hitting surface, we already had a strong leadership position with our full line of baseball and softball bats. Always looking to make our products better and work harder for players, we challenged ourselves to push even further and Maxum is the result. Our technology is so different from other manufacturers because of our proprietary precision moulded seamless construction, which allows us to elongate the barrel without adding weight, swing weight or sacrificing durability.”

Don Cooper, director of sales and marketing, Combat said, “With Combat Maxum bats built and now shipping to our retail partners, we have also added a fully integrated sales and marketing plan to support what we truly believe is game-changing bat technology. The product demonstrations, which will be held throughout the country, will provide consumers and retailers an opportunity to experience Maxum first-hand and see the benefit for themselves.” (GK)
