Milliken to show performance textiles at Techtextil 2015
April 01, 2015 - Germany
Milliken & Company will participate at the upcoming Techtextil 2015 at booth B56 in hall 3.1 and will showcase a host of textile performance materials which find applications in various sectors.
Applications include sectors like buildings and infrastructure, industrial reinforcement applications, protective and specialty clothing, the automotive industry, commercial flooring, and table linens.
“Milliken celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2015 and over the period has built a strong heritage of innovation based on unique insights, deep science, and meaningful design,” it said in a press release.
Its solutions in reinforcements for roofing, tape and industrial applications offer a wide range of textile capabilities for use in reinforcement fabrics.
Milliken products for reinforcing roofing help manufacturers comply with strict wind-performance standards, improve durability and increase the longevity of their commercial roofing systems.
Milliken fabric and cord solutions make tires, rubberised belts and hoses stronger, while reducing weight and cutting material requirements.
Ready-to-use reinforcement fabrics reduce the amount of rubber needed, which mean lighter tires, and thus lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Milliken's recent acquisition of Westex, Inc., a manufacturer of branded flame resistant (FR) fabrics, establishes Westex by Milliken, at the forefront of the protective fabric market.
Together, Milliken and Westex offer the most innovative fabrics for industrial workers around the world who need protection from arc flash, flash fire, and other thermal hazards.
The diverse portfolio of Westex FR fabric products are real-world tested, comfortable to wear, and are sold under such brands as UltraSoft, Indura, and True Comfort.
The Signature by Milliken portfolio of table linens includes the Repreve brand of recycled fibre, a fibre made from recycled materials, including PET bottles.
“Milliken's use of Repreve means that laundries and other table linen users now have a more sustainable product, with no sacrifice in appearance, performance or durability,” it added.
“Visitors to Techtextil will be able to see for themselves how and where our innovative products and services solve problems around the world,” Barbara Haaksma, vice president of marketing said.
“Innovation has been at the heart of Milliken's success since 1865 and we remain focused on doing good for the world, creating new experiences for our customers, and building for the future,” she too added. (AR)
