Eckart shows optical effect pigment range at Techtextil
May 06, 2015 - Germany
Eckart, Germany’s leading manufacturer of effect pigments is showing its optical and functional effect pigment portfolio at the ongoing technical textile tradefair, Techtextil, in Frankfurt.
The company is presenting Texmet 5040, multi-functional effect pigment, designed to reflect heat and furthermore to be used for laser marking.
Texmet 5040 is an innovative effect pigment, designed to reflect heat in Technical Textiles. In architectural applications like building foils, window blinds, textile wall coverings, or awnings, it helps to cool interiors, ultimately reducing energy consumption. As the pigment is compatible with organic colour pigments, attractive designs can be applied onto the fabric, while keeping reflectivity levels high. In this respect, the product surpasses other technologies available to the textile market. It is suitable for most solvent- and water-borne binders. It can be applied by screen printing, Foulard or roller application, Eckart reported.
The coarse Texmet 5000, used to provide sparkle is also a part of the expo. Eckart’s two conductive pigments, Econduct 421000 and Econduct 122000 , which help to establish conductive pathways or contact points that connect conductive areas or heating devices in Smart Textiles, is shown at Techtextil. The pigments are suitable for many binder systems used for screen printing on fabrics. (GK)
