Conwed to participate in Word of Wipes 2015 event

Conwed, the leading plastic netting manufacturer in the world, is set to participate in the World of Wipes (WOW) 2015 in Atlanta, GA, from June 16 to 19, 2015.
Organised by the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry (INDA), WOW is the premier event devoted entirely to the wipes industry. With the increasing demand for disposable consumer and industrial wipes, the nonwoven and fabrics industry gather to share technology, market insights and new trends affecting this growing product category.
Conwed would display its lightweight netting designs used in the nonwovens industry that can enhance and differentiate their products with additional strength and durability but at a minimal weight configuration, it said in a statement.
Conwed netting allows manufacturers to create composites through extrusion coating, extrusion lamination, thermal lamination, ultrasonic welding, wet and dry adhesive lamination and diverse nonwoven processes. In many cases, incorporating netting helps reduce cost, weight, height, thickness and overall size of products and save energy, material, and production process time.
Ivan Soltero, strategic marketing manager at Conwed said, “We manufacture a wide range of lightweight netting designs that can reinforce different substrates without considerably increasing the overall weight of the final composite.”
Conwed will also display Thermanet product that can be laminated to various substrates including aluminum, tissue, paper, nonwoven, and film at WOW. The integral joints provide strength and dimensional stability to the composite. In addition, the joints create a consistent web for a cleaner and smoother manufacturing process.
“Our Thermanet product line is a co-extruded netting configuration with adhesive properties in one or more of its layers that allow the netting to bond with a variety of materials when it is processed through thermal lamination. It provides lightweight and high-strength properties that are ideal for wipes,” Soltero said. (GK)
