September 10, 2015 - Czech Republic

Pegas Nonwovens, a manufacturer of polypropylene / polyethylene nonwoven textiles for the hygiene, industrial, construction, agricultural, medical, and other specialised sectors, has concluded a contract with the production technology manufacturer Reifenhäuser Reicofil GmbH & Co. KG, for the delivery of the second production line for the Egyptian plant.

The line, called S-TwinMB-S 2600 RF4s Compact BiCo, will be configured to produce bi-component materials and its annual production capacity will not exceed 10 thousand tonnes. It is expected to be put into commercial operation at the beginning of the second quarter of 2017. The installation of the production line will utilise the existing infrastructure of the Egyptian plant. The new concept will thus enable production capacities in Egypt to be gradually increased up to 45 thousand tonnes per annum with minimal building modifications, according to a press release.

František Rezác, CEO and member of the Board of Pegas Nonwovens said, “The investment into this new production line represents another significant milestone in our Company’s history. It is an entirely new platform, the first of its kind in the nonwoven textile industry. We are thus fulfilling our long term strategy based on installing state-of-the-art technology that enables the production of advanced products and confirm our position as one of the technological leaders in the segment of nonwoven textiles used in the production of disposable hygiene products.”

“For further development of the Company it is no less important that, together with the secured long term financing, we consider this type of production line, with its lower overall investment costs, lower demands on infrastructure and lower capacity to be an expansion technology platform which is suitable for penetration into new, especially developing markets,” Rezác added.
