September 25, 2015 - China
Dongguan Veijun Nonwoven, China’s nonwoven products making firm, has made a new fabric, known as Veijun Weed-Control fabric, an anti-UV and anti-aging agricultural moisturising nonwoven fabric.
The nonwoven fabric, with a service life of up to three years, will help crops grow stronger and produce tastier and healthier fruits by maintaining the moisture and nutrients as well as increasing the number of microorganisms in the soil. The fabrics are the most popular item across the company’s latest product line. The Veijun Weed-Control fabric addresses the planting requirements of a wide range of crops and offer more choices to end users.
Additionally, Veijun is planning to launch a user manual worldwide in the spring of 2016 to guide farmers and gardeners towards correct selection, use, and recycling of Veijun Weed-Control nonwoven fabrics, enabling Veijun to work more closely with its end users and further expand into the household market. This would help both home gardeners, who grow plants in their backyards, and farmers running large agricultural operations, to benefit from the use of the fabrics, according to a press release.
Veijun general manager Lai Xiangfu said, “A pilot program conducted by the company across multiple Chinese cities has demonstrated that crops developed using Veijun Weed-Control fabrics had a stronger root system delivering better performance in terms of sweetness, juice, and moisture content. In addition to maintaining all the functionalities of regular agricultural fabrics, Veijun Weed-Control nonwoven fabrics contain selective optical transparency, permeability and are environmentally friendly -- made with recyclable materials that are harmless to the soil, yet improve the soil’s quality.”
Marketing manager of Veijun, Wei Chunri said, “The Company has been engaged in the production of nonwoven fabrics for over 15 years. During the past five years, Veijun has been focusing on the research and development of agricultural products and has made Veijun Weed-Control nonwoven fabrics available worldwide after being selected by Wal-Mart as a vendor of the film. Consumers now can buy Veijun Weed-Control nonwoven fabrics with the longevity option that suits their needs at Wal-Mart supermarkets worldwide.” (GK)
